Introduction
God has not forgotten the things that you have been sowing into. Welcome back to the Ministry Corner. It’s a new year.
Perhaps you started the new year with great enthusiasm, or perhaps you’re one of those other people who has started thinking, is it really worth me doing what I’ve been doing and carrying on because I’m not seeing any results. The things I’m sowing into are not reaping any reward. The things I’m doing do not seem to be leading anywhere.
Well, today I want to tell you a bit of a story, and I want to share with you that God has not forgotten what you have been sowing into, and He has not left you, and what you have done up until now has not been for nothing. I remember a time when I was younger, I was a kid, probably barely six or seven.
I was sitting eating an apple, and I loved apples. They were just one of my favorite snacks as a kid. And I remember as I was finishing, and I got to the core, and I looked at it, and I thought, there’s all these seeds in this. I shouldn’t throw this away.
And I got this brilliant idea that, you know, you get as a kid sometimes, you just get this idea that’s just the most amazing thing. And I thought, what if I go plant those seeds in the backyard? Then I could grow my own apple tree. Then I could grow several apple trees, and I could just have as many apples as I want.
And so, in my simple, naive ignorance, I went and planted a little seed. I just picked random spots around the garden, dug a little hole, put one little seed out of the several that were in it, in it, and then I went and did another one, and another one. I was so excited.
I thought, this is it. I’m going to, I’m going to grow this amazing tree. Didn’t dawn on me that it’s probably going to take years for a tree to grow, or for fruit to show.
But I went and I diligently watered each little bit. And I thought, I’ll remember where each of these spots are. I know where they are.
But after a few days, I completely forgot where they were. And in fact, after a few days, I stopped watering them. And I didn’t even remember that I planted them.
Planting Seeds
I thought this was just kind of a good illustration of how we are sometimes. We, we get so excited about something, we think, oh, it’s going to be amazing. And we go plant some seeds, and we start watering and sowing.
And then we forget about it. And we don’t see the reward in the end, because we don’t follow through. You know, another illustration that I thought was amazing is, I don’t know if you’ve seen this, the plant here in the back of all my Ministry Corner videos.
It’s been there since the beginning, since I started this channel, and my Ministry Corner videos. And several times, I’ve stopped doing videos for an extended period of time. And I stopped watering the plant.
And I stopped putting it in the sun. I just kind of left it there. And it started to wither and die.
And it started to, this leaf started to shrink, some of the leaves fell off. And you know, your typical thought is, ah, it’s just dying. It’s not worth me keeping that plant anymore.
I might as well get a new one. But you know, I started to water that plant. And after a few days, suddenly it came back to life.
Suddenly, the leaves started to spring up. And then another time came where I stopped watering it again, and it started to wither. But this time, I didn’t let it get that far before I started watering it again.
I put some more soil on it, and I watered it some more, and it came back to life. And I thought it’s just, it’s a good illustration of how our spiritual life is. You know, it’s how I’ve been in this channel.
Different Phases
You go through phases where you’re excited, where you’re pushing through in your spiritual life, and you’re sowing in to whatever it is God wants you to do. Perhaps God told you to do something. Perhaps you’re excited about growing your ministry, or growing your business, or growing something in your life.
And you started sowing into it. You started exercising, or you started eating right. Anything, you can take anything from your life that you’re sowing and investing time into.
And for a while you start to see the results, but then you stop, and it starts to wither away. Well, you know, it’s very easy for you to get back, and begin to sow again. Begin to sow into that thing again.
And you know, so many people, they always get, in the new year, they get too excited about a goal, and they just go all in, and they go like they’re going to just get it overnight. But you know, the things that God has for you in this life, sometimes they take time. Sometimes you’ve got to just keep sowing into them, and be diligent.
Peace in Everything
The key is to persevere in everything you do, and be diligent, and be diligent in pushing through. God is a God of rest. He is not a God that pushes hard, and forces things.
He’s a God of rest. God wants you to be at rest now, as you start this year. He wants you to persevere, and push through.
Yes, He has new and exciting things for you, and He wants you to do them. But He wants you to do it from a place of rest. And if there’s something in your life right now that’s begun to die, perhaps you’ve stopped sowing into it.
Perhaps you’ve stopped doing what you should be doing. Don’t feel guilty. Don’t feel overwhelmed, and think that you’re never going to get back there.
That you’re never going to accomplish that thing that you want, because you’ve been trying for so long. Because if you get back there from a place of peace now, and you simply just begin to sow into it every day, begin to work on it again, you’ll start to see it showing.
Prophetic Word
I feel the Lord saying today,
“My child, I have not forgotten the things that you have done.
I have seen every single thing that you have sowed into. I have seen every single one of those times that you were by yourself, and you made a choice to diligently follow through, and serve me. And I have taken note, says the Lord, and I have made a way that you will get back there, and that that thing that you desire, you will accomplish.
That thing that I promised you, it will come to pause. Simply be diligent now, and begin to sow once again. Begin to sow where you can.
Begin to take the steps that are necessary, and then lay it in my hands, and trust me to bring the result. For I will bring the result, says the Lord. I will bring the result from the little bit of effort, the little bit of sowing that you do.
I will bring the result, and I will make it for good, says the Lord.”
God has Promised
I hope that this ministry corner has been a blessing to you. I just want to encourage you now, as you start this year, to persevere.
Do not give up hope. Do not lose hope. Because you see, God has a timing.
He has the timing for you, and he will bring it to pass. He will bring to pass the things you desire, and that he has promised you. Just keep going, and keep pushing through, and you will see the result.
I want to share a scripture quick before I end. In Numbers 23 19, it says,
Numbers 23:19 God is not a human, that he should lie; nor is He a descendant of Adam, that he should change His mind. Has He declared, and will He not bring it to pass? Or has He promised, and will he not carry it out? [GBMV]
All that he requires of you is that you continue to sow and persevere, and be diligent, and you will see amazing things happening in your life this year, and in the months ahead. Thank you for watching, and I will see you in the next ministry corner.
