It turns out, they are very important. They can change your life. But there is more to it than just thinking about good things.
This week, I was reminded of a principle that can change your life: the power of visualizing.

Introduction
You can do anything that you can see!
Welcome back to the Ministry Corner. Today, I want to talk to you about the power of visualizing or seeing what you want.
You see, because I’ve been learning about it this week and I’ve been reminded of the power of this and I just wanted to share a simple principle with you quick and maybe will help you this week to succeed in whatever it is you’re doing. That you know that you have the power to create whatever you want in this life. Whatever it is you want for your life, you have the power in your spirit to create it.
You have the power that can be released. But you see, it’s kind of hard to figure out how to release that power, isn’t it? And that is where visualizing comes in.
Two Aspects
Now there are two different kinds of people in this life. There are those who think, and then there are those who do. And often these people are considered complete opposites. You’ve probably heard this before.
You get the nerdy types in school who are thinkers. Their power is their mind. And you get those people who do.
They’re the doers. They’re the ones who get things done. And you often think of these as complete opposites.
But actually, you need both of these things in order to succeed in anything that you do. Because you see, there’s a power in your spirit that God has given you. He’s given you the ability to release that and to create something in this world.
But in order to release it, you have to feel like doing it. You have to feel like doing something. You have to feel like taking an action.
If you read our book The Way of Blessing, you’ll know that the only way to release the power from your spirit is through words and actions. But you see, you have to feel like speaking or you have to feel like doing something. You’re not going to do anything or say anything until you feel like doing it.
And that’s where the power of visualizing comes in. You see, because your feelings are at the center of everything that you do. Your feelings stop you from releasing that power.
And you don’t realize it, but every day you are visualizing, no matter what it is you’re doing. Every day you get up and you maybe have a picture in your mind of what you’re going to do. You have a picture of how you’re going to run this day or the things you’re going to do.
Maybe last night you thought, oh, I’m going to do that tomorrow. And you built up this picture in your mind. You built up your emotions.
You built up what you’re going to do. And so when the day comes, you’re ready to go out and do it. Of course, most of the time when you think about doing something, you get excited and your emotions build up.
But when it comes to actually doing it, then the emotions sometimes are gone. But you see, that’s where the power of visualizing comes in. That’s where the power of building up in your mind really shines.
Build Pictures
Because the more you build up pictures in your mind, the more your emotions build up. The more you start to think, I can do this. I’m ready to do this.
It’s like in your soul, you make a choice. Okay, I’m going to do this. I’m going to release the power from my spirit for that.
And so your soul starts to tell your spirit, get ready for that. Get ready to do that. Get ready to release the power because that’s what we’re doing.
Your soul is your control tower and can control everything that you do. And it all actually comes down to your mind. It’s not your will or your emotions.
We think that we have a strong will, but actually we follow our feelings. We follow what we feel like doing. And in your mind, you can choose to think about the right pictures, to visualize them.
And then it starts to build up your emotions. And then your soul says, okay, I’m doing this. And it’s ready to release the power.
So how do you do that? Well, there’s two simple things you can do. Firstly, you just need to think about what it is that you want, the outcome that you want, what it is you want to happen. You think about that and you think about how exciting it is going to be.
Think about how great it’s going to be if you did that. Maybe you’re wanting to build something. Maybe you’re a carpenter and you want to build something, for example.
And you can think about how exciting it’s going to be when that’s built, when you’ve built that hut or that outside storage place, perhaps. You can build that and you can think about how exciting it’s going to be to use it. Perhaps you’re programming and you can think about how exciting it’s going to be when you’ve got your app or your website up.
You Need A Vision
So you’ve got to think about the vision, what it is that you want. Because when you see that picture, then your spirit can create it. You have to see a clear picture because then your spirit will create it.
Your spirit is like, it’s sort of like raw material in your spirit. There’s raw power that God gave you. It needs to have a picture or a vision for you to aim it out.
And if you can see in your mind clearly what you want, if you can build up your emotions, then you open the door for your spirit to release and to go out and to create what you want. There’s a power in that. There’s a power in releasing through your spirit that way.
You can think on the words or the promises that God has given you in the scripture. You can think on the promises from the word. Those are great things to think about if you don’t know yet what to think about or to visualize.
Or perhaps God’s given you a prophetic word or given you a rhema word yourself, a clear word of what he wants for you in your life. Then you can think on that thing. You can think on how exciting that’s going to be when God does that.
But you see, there’s one thing that we often forget, and I’m guilty of this myself, so don’t worry if you’ve done this. You think when God has promised you something or has given you a vision that it’s going to happen automatically. But it’s not.
It’s not going to happen. God is not going to just do it and make it fall on you magically. He’s put it in your hands to do it.
And so you have to visualize yourself doing it. You have to visualize what you’re going to do and know what you’re going to do to succeed and get that thing. And when you do that, then you open up the power that is in your spirit to be released.
Then you allow God to move in this earth, because God does nothing in this earth unless he does it through a person. And so he wants to do something for you. He’s promised you something.
He’s given you promises. He has a plan for your life, but you are going to have to take action. And before you take action, the first step is to open up that channel from your spirit, open up that power that he’s given you to be released out and to go forth.
Start Now
Begin to visualize yourself doing something. Begin to see yourself clearly succeeding in that thing that God promised you. And the more you do that, the more you take time to do that, the more your feelings will build up and you’ll begin to release that power.
That alone is going to open the door for God to move in your life and do things. And then you have to actually take a step out and do it. You see, it’s not just thinking, it’s also taking action.
But if you’ve built up the thoughts in your mind, if you’ve built up the pictures, you’ll know what to do. You’ll know where to go and what steps to take. Maybe you won’t know at first, but you’re ready to take a step. You’ve got the emotions. You’ve got what you need to step out and do what God has for you.
You know, my Dad has told me so many times how before he stood up to preach, when he was younger, he visualized it in his head.
He saw himself preaching. He saw himself standing there preaching the word, preaching better than any other preacher he’s seen before. And I would argue my dad is one of the best preachers that I’ve ever seen.
And I admire what he has. And he did it because he visualized in his mind. He saw himself doing it.
He knew clearly what he wanted. Now, I’ve got many things that I know clearly that I want or I’m almost there. It might take a little bit of time for you as well.
You might have to build up those pictures. You know, if every day you meditate on what God’s promised you and what you want, even if it’s taken years and you haven’t succeeded in it, you keep that picture in your mind and you keep meditating on it and you keep those feelings alive and you keep that channel from your spirit open. Then, when you see an opportunity to take action, you step out and you do it.
And you’ll be amazed the power that suddenly gets released when you step out. It’s almost like all the blessing opens up because you have made that channel from your spirit for God to use to release his power in this earth and do the things that he wants for you.
Unlock The Power
The scripture says,
Proverbs 4:23 Keep watch over your heart or inner being greater even than you would in guarding a prisoner; for out of it [flow] the sources of life. [GBMV]
You don’t realize the power that is inside of you and every day you’re visualizing but you’re visualizing the wrong thing. You’re visualizing how today is just going to be like any other day or I’m going to just do the usual thing. I’m not going to do any better than I’ve always done.
Stop visualizing those things. Start dreaming a little. Start dreaming about amazing big things.
Maybe things that you used to dream about doing that you gave up on. Start thinking about what God’s promised you. Abundant health, relationships and prosperity.
Start thinking about a clear vision of what it is you’re wanting to do right now. No matter what it is. No matter what part of your life it is.
If it’s in the secular or in ministry, you have the power to create it with your spirit and especially if it’s what God has promised you. You know that you will receive it if you release that power. I hope that this ministry corner has been a blessing to you.
I hope that it inspired you to start dreaming again. Start thinking about the things God has for you. Start releasing that power and start using the power that God has given you in your spirit.
