Have you ever felt like what you have is not enough for God?

I don’t know about you, but I feel this way all the time. It seems like there are so many other people out there that have so much more than me. They are doing great things for God, but I am just here doing my little thing.

You may be tempted to look at how great a person’s works are and think they are more valuable than other people. And while they may be accomplishing more for God, that does not mean that God values you less.

God Sees Different

God sees things differently to how you see them. You do not know how valuable what you have is to Him. You do not know until you give what you have to Him, no matter how small it is.

I was reading in the word recently, and I came across one of the times that Jesus multiplied the fish and loaves of bread. And something stood out to me as I was reading.

It says:

John 6:7 Philip answered him, Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, 9 There is a boy here, who has five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

When the disciples saw this small amount of food from the boy, they asked: What are they among so many?

It’s kind of like they were implying that there was no value there. What that boy had was useless in their sight. They were not even going to try, because to them it seemed pointless. But it was not useless to Jesus. Because He took what that boy had and multiplied it to thousands of people. He took that small amount and increased it.

John 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed [it] to the disciples, and the disciples to those that were sitting; and in the same way the fishes as much as they wanted.

Do you feel like that little boy? Perhaps what you have seems like it will never be enough to touch anyone.

Well that is not the way that God sees it. He wants you to use what you have. He wants to take it and give it out to thousands.

The Key is Multiplying It

But the key is, it must be available to Him. Not only that, but it must be taken and multiplied. What you have may be small, but God can take it and increase it.

How do you increase it?

Well for a start you must use what you have. It is the law of “use it or lose it” as that say. You may have some amazing things God can use. Perhaps you have talents and skills, but they are not being used for God.

The problem is you may be thinking that what you have is not enough. So you never use what you have. Just like the disciples you are saying,

“What I have has no value”

This is actually selfish and not what God wants for you. He wants you to look to others and be a blessing to them. He wants you to be His shining light in this world. But instead you are looking at yourself and thinking,

“Poor me, what will people think of me when I offer my little useless fish”

You are waiting until what you have is perfect or has some value because it seems useless right now.

You are right, what you have has no value at all. It is completely useless. But God can make it valuable. God is the one that will bring the increase, not you. You cannot take the little you have and do anything with it.

So stop trying to make what you have valuable in your own strength. And instead give it to God now and ask Him to make it valuable.

How is God going to do that?

I don’t know, that is up to Him, because He will work differently in each person. But there is one thing that you can do right now.

Take what you have and give it to God.

Maybe you have been trying for a long time in your own strength and so you gave up. You thought it was useless to try. But just the act of giving it over to God can allow Him to work in your life now.

Start using what you have

Don’t just sit around and wait, you must take action. You are waiting for God to make things happen, but He will only act when you take the first step of faith.

What do you want right now?

So what do you want from God? Is it an opportunity in your life or your job? Do you want to work for God and minister?

Then start using what you have. start giving out the fish and bread that you have got. Even if it does not seem to have much value.

When it comes to your ministry, this means just giving out what God gave you. That may be as simple as sharing what you saw in the word in your bible study. Or praying for a friend who needs healing.

God does not care how big your works are, only that you make them available to Him. You may find that the simple act of talking to someone on the street leads to far more than you expected.

Never limit what God can do. He can use anything that is made available to Him and multiply and increase it.

I am going to be talking more about ways to increase what God gave you on my blog and ministry corner videos. So look out for those.

I hope this has inspired you to realize that no matter what you have, God can use it.
