I find it hard to go on when I am working hard on something and not seeing results.
I remember as a child working hours on drawing or painting something only to find that it looked really bad. In fact it looked worse than I thought it would. The more I tried hard to work on it the worse it got.
This has always been something that bugged me. I tried so hard, I really did but it was terrible.
You can be tempted to just give up when you work so hard, but you do not get what you wanted in the end.
But the truth is that I continued to work on drawing and years later I got to a place where I was much better at doing it. It was not something that just came out perfect overnight, I had to keep going to perfect it.
Your Situation
Today maybe you are feeling this way in your spiritual life. Maybe it seems that no matter how hard you work, nothing is happening. Or maybe what is happening is not what you wanted.
Maybe you are working hard to change the circumstances in your life, but they are not changing. God has promised you much blessing, but now you are asking Him,
“Why are you letting this happen Lord?”
The Lord has not forsaken you, He has not left you alone, He will complete the work that He has done in you. He has done much work in your life already and even now He is working in your life behind the scenes.
In Psalms 138:7-8 it says
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me: you will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand will save me.
8 The LORD [Yahweh] will perfect [that which] concerns me: your mercy, O LORD [Yahweh], [endures] for ever: forsake not the works of your own hands. (GBMV)
Completing The Work
You are the work of His hands. He has moulded you and shaped you and He has a place for you.
Even now maybe you are fearing the future. Things have changed in your life and you no longer have the same hope for the future.
I want to tell you that the Lord is not surprised by anything. He will complete the work of His hands. He will finish what He started, even if it takes longer.
Unlike us He is never surprised and He does not get discouraged when He does not see results. Because He knows everything that is to come, and He has planned the path out ahead of time.
Maybe the direction He is taking you has changed, but He did not change, He still wants only the best for you. All that you have to worry about is placing yourself in His hands and letting Him take you where you need to go.
So do not allow the enemy to lie to you now and distract you. God has a perfect plan, and though the enemy tries to attack you, the Lord will still complete His work in you.
